My senior year so far has me nervous for what’s to come. If I complete the classes I have this year, I will barely meet the requirements to complete high school on university track. This makes me nervous because I want to go to college and don’t know if I will be able to be accepted into a good college. Thinking about my future both excites and scares me. This year being my last, I want to achieve some goals before I leave. I want to pass my classes with a good GPA, get my liscence, play basketball for the school, complete my senior project, and overall have a fun year.
For senior year I made sure to get the classes that would allow me to finish on university track. I’m taking Integrated math 3, Econ/Gov, Game design, English 12, Chemistry, Fitness training 2, and AP Spanish. I don’t think my classes are too bad and can finish by the end of the school year. AP Spanish is the only class I’ve found to be somewhat hard for me, but I know having AP classes is important and the work will pay off. I also need to make sure my senior website gets finished alongside my classes to be able to graduate. I’m excited to learn in my new classes as I start my final year at high school.
I’ve have set goals that I want to meet this year that can prepare me for my future. First I want to take the SAT and get a good score in order to accepted to college. Another goal I want to achieve has to more with outside of school. I want to take Drivers Training and finally get my drivers license. This is a big deal for me because I will finally be able to go to places with asking my parents and friends for a ride. Since this is my senior year I want to play basketball again. I’m sure I’ll make the team because I’ve played the past years and the coach knows me, but I want my last season to be a great one. My last goal is pretty generic but still true. I want to pass my classes while having fun throughout the year.
The first week in my senior year has been great. I’ve been to the first rally of the year and feels great to finally sit at senior side of the bleachers. Since this is my fourth year at LHS I already know everyone and everything is familiar and easy. I don’t have to get used to how things are here and gets privileges that the freshman and sophomores don’t have. For example, I can go out during lunch with my lunch pass. As a senior my classes are prioritized first. All the privileges and freedom that I have experienced, that come with being a senior, have been great, but I still have the rest of the school year to go through which is exciting.

At this point of the year I am focusing on staying on pace on my classes and working on my senior project. While doing this it has helped me see the choices I can have for my future. I’ve also been able to decide and apply to what college I want to go after high school. This all has me feel happy and relieves because I know I have a plan after high school.
For my classes the only ones I need to really work on to stay on pase is Integrated math 3 and chemistry. For math I am planning to stay after school so that I can catch up and fully understand the material. In chemistry I am struggling a little bit on a measurement topic that requires a lot of calculation but on understand and pass I should be fine since the teacher says it is the hardest measurement topic. If I make sure to continue to stay on pace for my other classes then I should be good for the rest of the school year.
I have decided to apply for Porterville College for next fall. I plan on going there for two years and then transfer to university. This way I get my general education for less money and get to be close enough to my house. Then it will help me get to university since I would already passed college courses. This is especially helpful since I don’t know what I want to major in yet.
Overall, while I got a plan for after high school I need to make sure I get everything done here at the high school.Even though it feels like there is still so much of the school year left I know it will go by fast so as long as I keep making progress then I should be good.

As we approach winter break we are also approaching the end of the first semester. Overall, I don't need a lot in order to pass my classes for the semester but just to be safe I need to do work over the three week break. For my holiday plans I will stay home to just relax and do anything needed around the house while I wait for 2017 to come. The new year will be very exciting since it’s when I finally graduate high school.
The classes I need to work on is Integrated math 3, English, and Government. All my other classes should be fine. For math I have been staying after school to get some one on one help with the teacher. For english I have a couple of handouts to do and for government I need to complete a project. I should plenty of time to do the handouts and project over the break and as long as I do these things I should be good for the semester.
As the end of semester approaching and almost being 2017, I am both anxious and exciting because I am reaching my last semester in high school. This has me nervous because going to college and working on my future is right around the corner and it’s going to be up to me to figure everything out. I have been used to going school for all my live, so this is going to very different for me.
In conclusion I have to keep pushing and doing my work because graduation will come sooner than I think. Before I know it I will be in college working to see what I want to do for a living. So I need to be prepared that way I can go on with the next part of my life.
